New York Film Academy (NYFA) is a private arts college located at 26 Broadway in the Battery Park neighborhood of Lower Manhattan. NYFA New York offers degree and certificate programs in filmmaking, acting for film, producing, screenwriting, musical theatre, photography, animation, and game design. The school enrolls F-1 international students from more than 120 countries and is the only NYFA campus to offer programs in Musical Theatre and Entertainment Media.
Universal Student Housing and HomestayMatch place international students with verified American host families in the New York City metro area. Your host family provides a private furnished room, daily breakfast, and a stable home base while you study at NYFA. For students in intensive creative programs, homestay offers something dorm-style housing typically does not: meals included, a quieter environment for late-night writing or study, and a personal connection to New York City life outside the school building.
Every host family in our network is screened and verified before placement. We match you based on your school location, schedule, dietary needs, and personal preferences. Once your placement is confirmed, you receive a Welcome Packet with everything you need to get settled, including local transit routes to help you get to the NYFA campus. Airport transfer may be available as an add-on service when you apply — contact our office to confirm availability.
NYFA New York enrolls students across degree programs, certificate programs, and workshops of varying lengths. We offer flexible stays starting from four weeks, with easy extensions as your program requires.
Yes. Universal Student Housing and HomestayMatch work with F-1 international students attending New York Film Academy's Manhattan campus. We can coordinate your housing to align with your program start date.
Creative programs at NYFA are demanding — long shoot days, late editing sessions, performance rehearsals. Homestay gives you a consistent home base with meals provided, so you can focus on your work rather than figuring out dinner in an expensive city. Many students also find that living with an American family strengthens their English communication skills, which supports their performance and storytelling work.

We require a minimum stay of four weeks. Beyond that, your stay is flexible — you can extend as needed to match your program length.
