Pratt Institute's School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) offers full-time certificate programs for international students at the Pratt Manhattan Center in Chelsea. The school enrolls F-1 visa students in three programs: Creative Careers, Digital Design, and Fashion New Media. Programs run from one to three semesters and are held at Pratt's Manhattan campus at 144 West 14th Street, in the heart of New York City's design and fashion district. Graduates of the Digital Design and Fashion New Media programs are eligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Universal Student Housing and HomestayMatch place international students with verified American host families in the New York City metro area. Your host family provides a private furnished room, daily breakfast, and a welcoming home base while you study at Pratt SCPS. The school requires students to secure their own off-campus housing — homestay gives you a fully arranged, stable living situation from the day you arrive, with no apartment hunting, no lease negotiations, and no upfront furniture costs in one of the world's most expensive rental markets.
Every host family in our network is screened and verified before placement. We match you based on your school location, schedule, dietary needs, and personal preferences. Once your placement is confirmed, you receive a Welcome Packet with everything you need to get settled, including local transit routes to help you get to the Pratt Manhattan Center. Airport transfer may be available as an add-on service when you apply — contact our office to confirm availability.
Pratt SCPS programs run for one to three semesters. We offer flexible stays starting from four weeks, with easy extensions to cover your full program length.
