Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer homestay for City College of San Francisco Castro campus students?

Yes. USH offers homestay accommodation for international students enrolled at the CCSF Castro campus, including students in associate degree programs, certificate programs, the Intensive English Program, and transfer pathways. Contact us to check availability near the Castro campus.

Does City College of San Francisco provide on-campus housing?

No. CCSF does not offer on-campus dormitories or college-managed housing at any of its campuses. International students are responsible for arranging their own accommodations in San Francisco. Homestay is one of the most practical options, providing a furnished private room, meals, Wi-Fi, and utilities all in one flat monthly rate, with no lease or long-term commitment required.

Is homestay a good option for students in the Intensive English Program?

Yes. Students in the CCSF Intensive English Program are building the language skills they need to succeed in academic coursework. Living with an American host family accelerates that process by extending English practice beyond the classroom and into everyday life at home. The combination of intensive classroom instruction and full immersion in a host family environment is one of the most effective ways to develop real fluency quickly.

How long can I stay?

Stays start at a minimum of 4 weeks and can be extended to match the length of your program. Whether you are enrolled for a single semester or planning to stay through your transfer preparation, flexible options are available with no long-term lease required.
